Exclusive to FA cricket! New Bat
Ok well thanks to our new sponsors Anderson Cricket we can bring you a brand new prototype bat that they are making for the shorter forms of cricket!
Although I have never used Anderson Bats they do look very very nice!
So anyway heres the new bat... Ian (owner of Anderson) asked me to put these up so that you guys could give them some feedback!
"This is an exclusive as they are not on the website yet, thought we'd gauge
opinion on here 1st. Maybe not as exciting as the new Woodworm, but its still an
exclusive for you!"
The new bat has been designed with the shorter game format in mind, it has a
long but lower middle with a strong toe construction. This is due to a lot of
delveries being full in this type of cricket. Stock bats will be made from
selected G2 willow and all are individually pressed and hand made for the best
performance. They will be priced at £110, which we feel is excellent value for a
handmade (in England) bat. Higher grades of willow available on reqest.

Re: Exclusive to FA cricket! New Bat
Won't a bat with such a low middle and quite thin upper part of the bat pick up rather poorly?

Re: Exclusive to FA cricket! New Bat
James (Fusion) Said to someone that it doesnt matter where the middle is he can make it pick up well so hopefully its the same with Ians bats!
Obviously with it being so low it wont be feather light! But the low middle is perfect for most pitches over here!

Re: Exclusive to FA cricket! New Bat
I know it doesn't matter where the middle is, but less meat up top will push the centre of gravity down towards the toe even more.
If James makes a low middle bat he'll leave more weight at the shoulders in order to raise the centre of gravity up. And he may also take some weight from the toe,

Re: Exclusive to FA cricket! New Bat
Hi,
If you look at the stickered up bat there is indeed more weight left in the shoulders to balance the pick up. This will be the usual shape.
The blank bat is an extreme example for someone who wanted the lowest middle they could get! I think they have........ The bat actually only weighs 2lb 6oz as well.
And the website should be working OK? It is for me anyway...

Thanks.

Re: Exclusive to FA cricket! New Bat
Thats a lovely bat shape! Nice and thick...maybe a bit of concaving on the back would lighten the pickup!?
Yeah I love the comps on here aswell! We need to all tell our friends though! Danny said to me the more people we get on here the bigger the prizes!

Re: Exclusive to FA cricket! New Bat
how good would those bats go on indians pitches. I reckon they are pretty good. If you could swing that thing hard enough andd fast enough then middle it. God knows how far that ball would go.

Yes it is. Any reason?
Also bats will be available between 2lb 8oz and 3lb. Lighter or heavier on request.
Cheers.
