Should Neutral umpires be scrapped?
Neutral Umpires
After all the errors the umpires have made in the Australia vs India series former aussie captatin steve Waugh has called for neutral umpires to be scrapped. He wants the best umpires to officiate in high profile series's.
Good idea in my opinion - i think some umpires should be removed from the elite panel!

Re: Neutral Umpires
the idea came so umpires wont make biased decisions but with their job on the line if the do crap neutrals could be scrapped

Re: Neutral Umpires

Re: Neutral Umpires
yeah i suppose your right danny...
If a team loses their fans will just say an umpire was biased!
Will defo complicate the game more!

Re: Neutral Umpires
it would be bias but umpires would be accused of being bias even if theyre not trying to be. If an aussie umpire was umpiring in the current test series vs india and he made an incorrect decision so that an indian batsmen was given out, everyone would accuse him of being bias, even if he was being completely honest. It would make the game very contravertial.

Re: Neutral Umpires
Any activities in this world for as long as there is a human involved, will be controversial, simple:) Steve Bucknor gave Andrew Symonds 2 not outs! So really, nationalities dont mean nothing here.

Re: Neutral Umpires
Ok heres a soultion, get one umpire from each country, sure might cause a bit of conflict, but dont we all wanna see great, memorable games. And plus seeing simon taufel is the best umpire in the world, its a shame he cant umpire tests in his own country. And it would be blatanly obvious when a umpire was being biased. The biased ones would be continuosly bad decisions, more than what the Australia-India series has had already.

Re: Neutral Umpires
A nuetral umpire would mean a nuetral decision with ni bias to one or the other teams.

Re: Neutral Umpires
I have always advocated nuetral umpires coz they are supposed to be nuetral. ICC should only pick the best and not those who have passed their prime 10 years back. This is my opinion that most umpires tend to feel an extra bit when they are in OZ games. This could only be my opinion, but thats what I feel. They need to be more careful. and Steve bucknor should retire, he is al the time too involved in the game and makes quite a few decisions on that margin it appears.
