About Woodworm Empty About Woodworm

Post by Danny Thu Jan 03, 2008 4:46 am

Woodworm was founded by a man named Joe Sillett. His dad found an old cricket bat in his garage which was full of.... you guessed it woodworm. Joe's dad began working on the bat to try and get rid of some of the woodworm. He spent many hours on the bat, and finished with the shape we see on all the shop shelves today. He shown the bat to Joe who agreed to use it in a Sunday friendly match, Joe went on the hit a huge unbeaten ton. They patented their cut away edges and signed some players. These include Andrew Flintoff, James Anderson and most recently Brett Lee. With a new range of bats out for 2008 Woodworm look set for more great sales figures in the coming years.
