i got told by my pro that is good to have a trigger movement is this the case as it also makes legside shots more diffcult to play

It is true yes a trigger movement tends to help you move your feet more effectively. Not sure about the leg-side shot thing, shouldnt be the case really maybe just a technical problem with your trigger movement. What movement to you make? i.e Back and towards off

Whatever feels comfortable for you is the best. Although it is said keeping your head pefectly still when the bowler is running in can help!
If you are dominant on your back foot take your movement forwards, or vice
versa. It is mean to counter balance your bat lift. Hope that
helps!
A trigger movement can make your stance wider therefore you need to move less to execute your shot!

I'd say that a trigger movement is more to assist in getting the weight transfer right. The higher the level you play and the better the bowling the quicker you want to get the weight transferred to where it's needed.

However, at a lower level it's far more important to keep the head still and watch the ball, I'd suggest doing this first and foremost before complicating matters with professional worries.
