Mannie Member interview!
Heres the latest member interview ladies and gents! Enjoy the wonderful insights of Mannie from barbados!
Why did you decide to join the forum?
Well on the 31st of december 2007 a friend told me about it so I thought Id
go and check it out and I did
What kind of cricketer are you?
Im a fighter. I fight until the end no matter the situation .If my team
seems to be the losing side I still fight
How often do you play cricket?
I play cricket on a daily basis . I wake up shower and go into my garage or
on my lawn and knock around or play cricket with my brother
Is cricket as popular in Barbados as it appears to be?
Yes. Cricket is the no.1 sport in Barbados. In every village there is a
large group of children playing the game in their alleys, yards or lawns.
What kind of teas do you have at cricket?
Well we dont have tea as you guys from the UK do.But we get sandwiches and
cakes and a glass of juice and sit and discuss whats going to happen next.
It really builds team unity and togetherness.
What bats do most people use in your country?
In Barbados people use a wide variety of bats like anywhere else in the
world, however a huge amount of people like to have their bats sanded and
sometimes restickered which is where i make some pocket money . Lol. They
are guys who have sponsors and know pros and sponsored players . So they
are guys with bats ranging from Gray Nicolls to Look Well (you have never
heard of them!!!)
Who is the best cricketer ever?
Tough question. Well I admire Sachin Tendulkar and Brian Lara along with
Shiv Chanderpaul and Mike Hussey the most and Its between The Little Master
and The Prince Of P.O.S
Whats your best performance
My best performance was when i got 45*
Can you describe the moment?
it was a 30 ovrs a side game and i came in at three we were batting slowly but we had wickets in hand i got my eye in and then changed gears and eventually we won. I was really ecstatic not just because of my teams win but I got man of the match in that game.
Is your whole family passionate about cricket?
my family loves cricket a lot my mum is crazy about cricket and chanderpaul and they always support me
Thanks Mannie
No Problem
