england have dropped prior and are taking ambrose and mustard as their two wicket keepers for the new zealand tour. Tredwell has also been called up for the odi and t20.

Re: Prior Dropped
Glad to see strauss is back... the england test team should be
Strauss
Cook
Vaughn
Pieterson
Collingwood
Bell
Ambrose
Sidebottom
Panesar
Broad
Harmison
Id like to see shah get into the ODI team instead of bopra! Shah is very good at playing the ball into the gaps and deserves a chance in the team!

Re: Prior Dropped
yh did you see shah's one handed sweep for 4 against india? anyway did you hear that if there was a test tomorrow ambrose would be the keeper. but if mustard has a great odi series with the gloves and bat the he will take the gloves for the first test.

Re: Prior Dropped
I would have gone with Prior as he has not been that bad. If ECB wanted new blood in, they shouldnt have picked him in the first place.

Re: Prior Dropped
I agree Armie! Prior was averaging 44 with the bat...why change him!
But I suppose we do need a keeper who can keep instead of being a batsman first and foremost

Re: Prior Dropped
Prior's batting in the test matches has been good, England's third best batsman in the seires. But his keeping has not been up to international standards, he has simple dropped too many catches. The way I see it, is you want a keeper who can bat, not a batsman who keeps. You want your solid keeper who comes in at 7 and can bat a bit. The top 6 are the ones who should score the runs, we shouldn't have to reply on our number 7 to come and and blaze a 100. If we can get a really good keeper, who doesn't drop catches, and can come it at 7 and score 50 odd then we'd be sorted.

Re: Prior Dropped
Do u guys have an academy for cricket in england, because it would hepl u guys get better players earlier and might get u guys a better keeper. Thats the reason why australia have been so good because of the youth programs.

Re: Prior Dropped
ok
The devolment would be the 'A' team. eg. the second XI
And notice for the 15 years our academy has been around we have started winning a lot more than the 80's and very early 90's
Almost all of the current test and ODI squad have gone to our acedmy.
