First Game of the Season

Played my first match of the year today in the biting winds and intermittent showers of early April. I was playing for my academy side vs. a University second team on pre-season tour. The captain lost the toss and we were put in on an erratic astro. I scored a slightly sluggish 54 before being stumped down the leg side losing my balance. We pushed on and thanks to some feeble spin bowling and some frantic running we finished on 267-7 from 45.

In reply the opposition (more than likely suffering the effects of a late-night drinking session) looked pretty out of their depth against our openers and they fell quickly to 9-3 and 47-5. After some lusty blows from their number 7 they succumbed for around 160 to give us a comfotable victory.

Despite the weather it was a nice game to start the season with. The bowling was accurate but unthreatening and I felt in good form although there was some playing and missing. Got some good sledging in at the start of their innings too!

I look forward to hearing how other members' first games go

i have my first friendly game on the 27th, playing for my sunday team against my saturday team!

1st game last sunday was rained off!! better not rain so much like it did LAST year!

also i have a west dorset match against south dorset on the 4th at wimbourne so i will miss my first league match. does anyone know surrige clothing delivery times as they cashed the cheque ages ago and still no kit?

First game today no byes when i was keeping and a stumping. Should also have had a catch but the umpire decidefd to turn his hearing aid off.
Opened as well and got 10 before being retired then when i went back in at the end we had to run for everything so i got run out for 15.
That's higher than my highest score last year so hopefully i can keep on getting runs.

i played today my team lost, i opened the bowling and got 2-35 of 7 overs. then got 5 and was caught by my coach of the bowling of my cousin! it was a full toss and i toed it. but i got him out when he was batting for a duck!

i had a seconds team match and an u15s and an u18s match called off because of rain had my first first team match on sunday and got a duck so i have a u15s on tuesday and u18s on tuesday. hopefully will be better!

i hit 42 today (highest score!!) opening for district

Got A Game For My Region / District Next Sunday

Scored 45 in the first league game of the season yesterday. Scraped home by 3 wickets

I did ok today... 5 overs for 8 runs (2 maidens) and 8* to win the game

3 and then caught off the outside edge trying to flick it away on leg. 5 people got ducks. 1 bye but that was off our spinner who bowled a googly and i thought it was a leggie and just missed it.

bowled 4 overs.. got 2 wickets:) keeper and slip drop one each though
batting wise made 39 - topscored, but STILL lost the game..
2 runouts were my fault i shout yes for a 2nd, but dropped my bat on the turn..so my opposite number got runout
